Frank Pape is a seasoned business, strategy, operations, and production leader with nearly three decades of experience in the games industry, platform/OS, cloud business, and corporate development. He has held pivotal roles in publishing, business development, licensing, operations, production, and program management at four leading games publishers (Activision, EA, Microsoft, and Scopely) and two leading cloud companies (Microsoft and Twilio). Known for his exceptional talent scouting abilities, Frank has discovered, negotiated, and signed 16 Game of the Year winners, including Quake II, Battlefield 1942, Battlefield 2, Fable, Fable II, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo: Reach, Mass Effect, Gears of War 1-3, Forza 2-4, and the Alan Wake franchise. As a win-win negotiator, he has signed thousands of profit-generating development and licensing deals for games (Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Marvel, James Bond, Disney, The Simpsons, et al.) and tech (Havok, Unreal, Unity) across all platforms. Frank has also driven acquisitions of numerous ROI-positive development studios, including Digital Illusions, Lionhead, Big Huge Games, Oddworld Inhabitants, Sigil, BigPark, The Coalition, PlayFab, and two unannounced developers for Scopely, as well as divesting Bungie from Microsoft. As a decisive operations leader and process driver, Frank created and instantiated Microsoft's global resource and investment allocation process (DWR) for all key development decisions.
